tspoonFast: log your waste from your phone
In this article youāll learn how to log waste in tspoonFast, add the ingredients that were lost with their quantity and waste type, and deduct stock from the matching store instantly from your phone or tablet.
Waste in tspoonlab is any product exit that doesnāt correspond to a sale or a production: expiry, breakage, bad practice or staff meals, among other reasons. Logging waste keeps the storeās theoretical stock up to date and helps you spot where money is being lost in the kitchen.
š Note: Waste types (Expiry, Breakage, Bad Practice, Staff Meals, etc.) are set up beforehand from tspoonBack. See Control waste to learn how to create them and analyse store deviations.
Step by step to log waste in tspoonFast
Follow these steps to create a waste folder, add ingredients and record their quantity and waste type.
Create a waste folder or group
Before logging lost ingredients, you need to create the folder that will group them.
From the tspoonFast home screen, tap "Waste".
Tap the "+" icon in the top-right corner to create a new folder or group.
Fill in the folder name with the current week, the month, or the waste group you want to log; for Delivery Date, select the folderās creation date, and optionally add Business Line and Comment. The Code is generated automatically.
Tap "Save".
š” Tip: Name the folder by week or month (for example, "September") rather than by a single ingredient. That way you can group all the waste for that period in one place, instead of creating a new folder for each lost ingredient.
Add ingredients to the folder and record their quantity
Inside the folder you can add each lost ingredient, and enter the quantity and the waste type.
Tap the "+" icon inside the folder to open the "Add Item" search.
Search for and tap the ingredient you want to log; itās added to the folder with quantity 0.
Adjust the "Quantity" with the "ā"/"+" buttons, by typing it directly, or with the calculator icon if the ingredient has several formats.
Tap "Select" next to "Waste Type" and choose the reason (for example, Expiry, Staff Meals, Bad Practice or Breakage).
If needed, add a "Comment" to record the reason in more detail.
Repeat these steps for each ingredient you want to log in the folder.
The cost of each line and the folderās Total Cost are calculated automatically based on the quantity and ingredient selected.
š¢ Important: You donāt need to press any button to save each line: tspoonFast saves changes automatically when you go back. Stock in the matching store is deducted when you close the folder, not when you enter the quantity. If you need to correct a quantity or a waste type youāve already saved, you can edit that line later by reopening the folder from tspoonFast or tspoonBack.
