Labels in tspoonlab let you generate and print physical identifiers with QR codes for your products and materials at the very moment a purchase delivery note is registered.
Labels printed during goods receipt are an operational investment that serves three key functions in your kitchen:
Physically identify supplies: label jars, sacks, vacuum bags, or containers in the store and cold rooms.
Automate traceability and stock counts: each label includes a unique QR code that stores the incoming batch and the expiry date. During stock counts, waste logging, or productions, your team can scan the QR code with a mobile device, saving hours of work and removing manual transcription errors.
Ensure food-safety control: every ingredient in stock keeps its origin history and expiry date visible for health inspections.
How to generate and print labels from a received delivery note, step by step
The tspoonlab purchases module includes a direct tool to label goods the moment they enter the store. Follow these steps to complete the printing process:
Go to the main menu, open the "Management" section, and click "Purchases".
In the search panel on the left, locate and select the purchase order — or the folder that contains it — with the goods you are going to process.
Inside the order, open the three-dot dropdown menu in the top-right corner.
Scroll down in the dropdown and select "Print labels".
A pop-up window opens with the breakdown of the received products. Customize the parameters for each line:
Batch: the system automatically links the incoming batch number of the ingredient provided on the delivery note.
Quantity: indicate how many physical labels you need to print.
Expiry date: you can add the expiry date manually by choosing the date in the calendar.
"Calculate expiry" button: if you previously set the shelf-life days on the product record, clicking this button makes the system calculate the expiry date automatically.
Click the "Print" button to launch printing.
Generating batch labels with QR codes directly on your purchase delivery notes is the essential step to safeguard your establishment's food safety and speed up later inventory counts.
