What is labeling in tspoonlab and why is it key to your operation?
Labeling is how you control your ingredients across the store and the kitchen. Depending on your type of business, it can be a food-safety requirement for identifying what is on your premises, but it is also a tool that lets your team work faster, avoid waste caused by mix-ups, and keep traceability automated.
In tspoonlab, the labeling workflow adapts to each moment of your day. The simplest starting point is simple labels, designed to identify fixed stock, organize shelves, or label containers directly.
How to print simple labels step by step
To print simple labels in tspoonlab, the system can generate identifiers for these categories of items: products, materials, recipes, and dishes.
Labels for products and materials
To print labels for products or materials in tspoonlab — ideal for identifying jars, containers, or ingredient shelves — follow this sequence:
Go to "Offer" and click "Ingredients" or "Materials".
Find the product or material you need and open its record.
In the top-right corner, open the three-dot dropdown menu and click "Labels".
The system opens a window where you can customize the data before printing:
Labeling date and Expiry: record when the item is labeled and set its expiry date.
Comment and Made by: add internal notes or record which team member prepared the product.
Batch: by default the system suggests the batch of the labeling day in year.month.day format. The batch prints with the default day only if you print the labels on the same day you receive the product.
Advanced options: you can tick "Include allergens" and/or "Number labels" if you are printing several units at once.
Finally, click "Print".
Labels for recipes and dishes
